Successful Delivery of Smart EV Charging Stations to Lagos, Nigeria

With the rapid development of Africa’s new energy market, Nigeria—West Africa’s largest economy—is actively advancing green transportation infrastructure. In 2025, our company undertook an electric vehicle (EV) charging station delivery project for Lagos, Nigeria, deploying the first batch of 10 smart AC charging units for a leading local clean energy enterprise. This milestone marks a significant breakthrough for our company in the West African market.

The project commenced in June 2025, with the client aiming to rapidly deploy safe, reliable, and remotely manageable charging infrastructure in downtown Lagos commercial districts and upscale residential areas. Anticipating challenges such as unstable grid conditions, a hot and humid tropical climate, and limited local maintenance resources, our technical team developed a customized charging solution tailored for tropical environments. The units feature IP54-rated enclosures, built-in wide-input voltage modules (198V–242V), and integrated 4G communication capabilities for remote monitoring and fault diagnostics. Additionally, the system supports local currency billing and mobile payment interfaces to enhance end-user convenience.

For logistics and delivery, we partnered with an international freight forwarder experienced in West African routes, ensuring the equipment was shipped from Shenzhen Port, China, to Lagos Port within six weeks. During customs clearance, we proactively assisted the client in preparing Nigeria’s mandatory SONCAP certification documents and coordinated with local partners to secure pre-installation power connection approvals. By September 2024, all 10 charging stations were successfully installed, commissioned, and accepted by the client.

Since going live, the system has operated stably, delivering over 1,200 charging sessions within three months, with user satisfaction exceeding 95%. The client reported that the system has significantly enhanced their brand reputation in Nigeria’s new energy services sector and confirmed plans to place an additional order for 50 AC fast chargers in 2026. This successful delivery not only validates the adaptability of our products in complex overseas environments but also establishes a solid foundation for further expansion into Nigeria and the broader West African EV infrastructure market.

Moving forward, we will deepen our localization efforts by collaborating with local partners to build a comprehensive after-sales support network, contributing to the sustainable development of Nigeria’s green mobility ecosystem.
